PRODUCTS The Processing Facility has developed products and services that provide the diversity needed in today's competitive market. These products typically sell at a premium to commodity grade zinc. Zinc is an essential metal in our daily lives. Its main use is in galvanizing steel for the automotive and construction industries. Zinc is also used in the production of die-cast alloys and brass. Zinc powders, oxide and dust are used in the manufacture of batteries, rubber tires, pigments, sun screen and diaper rash creams. Today the Processing Facility is the second-largest zinc refinery in North America. Value added products represent the majority of our total production. Some of them include: Jumbo Zinc, a product customized with alloy, produced for steel customers to improve the productivity of their galvanizing lines. Galvanized sheet steel is one of the fastest growing steel products for automotive and construction applications. Zinc Shot, a product that is used to produce electro-galvanized steel for the car industry. The Processing Facility is the main source of this product.
